John brings his extensive background in traditional photography and his enthusiasm and expertise in digital imaging to provide you with the best possible photographic solution. John has been on the forefront of digital imaging for over ten years and is one of only a handful of photographers in Northern California with comprehensive experience and confidence in digital photography. A pioneer in the field, he has been an invited speaker at both Macworld and Seybold conferences.
In the 1990s, as studio manager, John created the digital photography department at Butterfield's, transitioning the auction house founded in 1865 into the digital age. He then opened his own studio, JFM Digital Imaging, an all digital studio from the start.
John has taught at Academy of Art University in San Francisco. He is founder and current president of the San Francisco Digital Imaging Group, a nonprofit dedicated to education in and promotion of digital imaging.
